Welcome to the blog of the Oregon Chrsitain Home Education Association Network (OCEANetwork). It is our goal to encourage, equip and strengthen you in the Lord as you homeschool. We want this blog to become a two-way conversation between OCEANetwork and the homeschoolers of Oregon. We hope you feel free to participate. You can comment on posts or you can submit a guest post to us at karmans@oceanetwork.org.

OCEANetwork is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and supporting home education in Oregon. To that end we work hard in the legislature to make sure private homeschooling remains free for all homeschoolers in Oregon regardless of race, religion or educational philosophy. Our goal is to make sure that families have the freedom to teach their children as they see fit free from government control.

While our work to protect home education freedoms is broad in scope covering all homeschoolers in Oregon, the focus of our encouragement is narrower. We exist specifically to "glorify the Lord Jesus Christ through supporting, encouraging, protecting and advancing private Christian home education in Oregon." Accorging to our bylaws, "All activities of OCEANetwork shall be consistently and forthrightly Christian."

In our ministry of support to homeschool families, it is our goal to "turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, the hearts of parents to each other, and the hearts of families to God to make ready a people prepared for the Lord" (Luke 1:18 amplified). We want to equip parents to use the tool of homeschooling in order to "raise up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4).

So this blog's goal is to help families as they disciple their children in the Lord. Families (whether in Oregon or around the nation) will find many of the posts in this blog to be encouragement for their homeschool. Some of the posts will be specifically for Oregon homeschoolers - things like political action or conference updates.

Through it all, we are looking forward to being "encouraged together with you."
